Back Story
Discarded objects catch my eye as I walk from my Portland apartment to my studio. On the pavement, nails, gum wrappers, bottle caps, bread clips and other tiny bits of urban debris flirt with me, offering a raw aesthetic as a new muse. Back at my work bench I look at them carefully for manmade machining marks. I take things apart to see how they are manufactured so I can copy them for jewelry. The results surprise me every time, elevating what we don't really see into objects of beauty that transcend convention.
