About the artist: Betsy Lehndorff, a former crime reporter, wrote for Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist from 2009 to 2022. She started her jewelry career hunting gems in the Colorado Rockies. She then took low-cost silversmithing and lapidary classes at a legendary recreation center in the Denver suburbs. These days she is lives in Portland, OR, working out of an 8x8-foot studio at ActivSpace Lovejoy.
